The record

The Army wanted a cheaper replacement for the Dodge M37 and Kaiser Jeep militarised the Gladiator: a folding windscreen, a canvas cab top, 24-volt electrics, Dana 60 and 70 axles and the overhead-cam Tornado six. It served in Vietnam and with the National Guard; Kia built a diesel version, the KM450, into the 2000s.
