The compact Chevrolet four-wheel drives of 1983–2005: the S-10 pick-up 4x4 with Insta-Trac shift-on-the-fly, the S-10 Blazer of 1983 (two-door; four-door from 1991) and the 1995 second generation, the 2.8 and 4.3 V6s, and the ZR2 off-road package of 1994–2003 with a wider track, 31-inch tyres and a lifted frame; the GMC S-15/Sonoma and Jimmy were twins.

The record

GM’s first compact trucks got four-wheel drive from 1983 with the S-10 Blazer built against the Bronco II and Cherokee; the 1991 four-door and the 1995 redesign (the Blazer dropped S-10) followed, and the ZR2 package of 1994 made the S-10 and two-door Blazer credible off-roaders. The Colorado replaced the S-10 in 2004 and the TrailBlazer the Blazer in 2002 (the Blazer lasted to 2005 for fleets).
