The record
Chevrolet dropped the K5 name in 1992 for the GMT400 full-size Blazer with a fixed roof, added the four-door in 1995 and renamed it Tahoe (the two-door lasted to 1999); the Tahoe has been the American police and federal SUV since the Police Pursuit Vehicle of 1997 and the Z71 its off-road trim. The Suburban is its long twin.
