The armoured Pinzgauer: BAE Systems’ Vector protected patrol vehicle of 2007, a 6x6 Pinzgauer II with an armoured cab and crew compartment for the British Army in Afghanistan, withdrawn in 2009 after mine and IED losses and hub failures; about 180 built.

The record

The Vector was an urgent operational requirement for Helmand in 2006–07; its forward-control layout put the crew over the front wheels and its light chassis could not carry the armour, and it lost the confidence of commanders within a year. Foxhound replaced it.
