History

Supacat was founded in 1981 at Dunkeswell Aerodrome by Nick Jones, who remains a director, and David Clayton, and rebranded as SC Group in 2015. It designs at Honiton; DML, part of Babcock Marine, builds the larger production runs. The HMT was designed in mid-1999, UK Special Forces awarded a contract for 65 vehicles in 2001, and Britain bought 575 between 2007 and 2010.
