Questions

What is a Land Rover paint code?
The factory's identifier for a colour. Later colours carry an LRC number with a three-letter code (LRC005 HCD is Pastel Green); military and utility colours are usually British Standard BS 381C shades (Deep Bronze Green is BS 381C-224); some fleet colours are known only by a supplier reference. The code, not the name, is what a paint shop mixes from.
Where is the paint code on a Land Rover?
On the vehicle identification plate — under the bonnet or on the seat box on Series models, on the brake pedal box or the door shut on a Defender — beside the chassis number, or on the build record. Many Series vehicles carry no code at all: the colour was a name on the order.
Are the hex and RGB values exact?
No. Each hex is a representative value averaged from photographed factory chips or quoted from a standard — good enough for a screen or a mock-up, not for matching paint. Where no factory code is recorded the value is the registry's estimate and the page says so.
What colour was a Series Land Rover originally?
Most Series I vehicles left Solihull in the light grey-green called Pastel Green (Light Green, LRC005) or Bronze Green; Deep Bronze Green BS 381C-224 for the military; Limestone, Marine Blue, Poppy Red and Sand joined the range with the Series II. Each marque's page lists every researched colour with the vehicles that wore it.
