The record

Ted Ornas designed the Scout at Fort Wayne to take the recreational market the CJ had opened; it went on sale in January 1961 with the 93 hp four, a three-speed gearbox and a Dana transfer case. The Red Carpet series of 1964 marked the 100,000th Scout and the Campermobile put a raised roof on it. The 800 of 1965 replaced it.
