The record
Bowler and Land Rover formalised a relationship that had run informally for two decades in June 2012, and the cars were badged Powered by Land Rover from then on. The EXR, launched at the same time, carried the Nemesis line forward on a hydroformed Range Rover Sport chassis with an MSA-approved roll cage and composite panels, using the Range Rover Sport's engines and components; LRLife records its 5.0-litre JLR V8 restricted to 300 bhp for competition.
The road-going EXR S followed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June 2012. Some later accounts date the EXR to 2014 and the EXR S to 2010 or 2015; the dates here are those of the 2012 launch report.
