The record
Bowler announced the CSP 575 in November 2020, its first new model under Jaguar Land Rover ownership, developed with engineers from Special Vehicle Operations. The high-strength steel CSP chassis from Bowler's rally raid cars carried an aluminium Defender 110 station wagon body with four seats, air conditioning and a full safety cage, and the engine was the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 of the Range Rover Sport SVR at 575 PS. It was to be hand-built to order at Belper at about £200,000, with deliveries in the second half of 2021.
Two 2016 CSP V8 prototypes, P1 and P2, already used the supercharged 5.0-litre Jaguar V8 on the same platform. LRLife records that only a handful of CSP 575 prototypes were built before the project was shelved.
