Volvo TP21, Laplander and C300 chassis numbers

Volvo’s terrain vehicles carry the Volvo type plate with the model (TP21/P2104, L3314, L3315, C202, C303, C304, C306) and a chassis number, stamped on the frame; Swedish Army vehicles carry the Army registration and the terrängbil designation (Pltgb 903, Tgb 11/13/20), Norwegian L3314Ns a Norwegian military registration. Volvo’s YV1/YV4 VINs came after the C300 ended. [1][2]

Where to find it

The type plate in the cab (dash or door pillar) and the chassis number stamped on the right-hand chassis rail; the Army registration on the bonnet and rear.

How to read it

1953–1984Type plate model + chassis number: Model designation (P2104, L3314SU/HT/PU, L3315, C202, C303, C304, C306) with a sequential chassis number and the year on the plate; the Swedish Army’s own registration and terrängbil number identify military vehicles.
