Steyr-Daimler-Puch identified the Haflinger and Pinzgauer by a type-plate model code — 700 AP, 710/712, 716/718, with M, K and W body suffixes — and a chassis number stamped on the backbone tube, with the VAN world manufacturer identifier once VINs came; Guildford-built Pinzgauer IIs carry a British prefix.
