The Eagle on Mowag’s own chassis: the IV on the Duro II 4×4 at 6.7–7.4 tonnes, and the V on the Duro IIIP in 4×4 and 6×6 form, at 7.0 and 7.7 tonnes or more, with Cummins inline-six turbodiesels of 240–285 hp and 285–360 hp. Germany has ordered 3,721, Switzerland 556, Denmark 219 and Luxembourg 84.

The record

Moving the Eagle onto the Duro chassis made it a Mowag vehicle throughout, and Germany’s order — much the largest — made it one of the most numerous protected patrol vehicles in European service.
