On the chassis plate in the cab and stamped on the right-hand front spring hanger, as on the other Series III models.

How to read it

1972–78eight digits + suffix letter
956–965 = 101-inch Forward Control (12-volt 956–960, 24-volt FFR 961–965); five-digit serial from 00001; suffix A.
