The plant at Fallersleben — Stadt des KdF-Wagens — built 14,276 Schwimmwagen between 1941 and 1944 and about 564 Kommandeurswagen. Post-war four-wheel drives came from elsewhere in the group: Audi drew the Iltis, Steyr-Daimler-Puch at Graz converted the Transporters, Toyota built the Taro, Bratislava builds the Touareg and Ford at Silverton the second-generation Amarok.
