History

E. M. Tucker Sr grew up crossing deep snow in southern Oregon and spent the 1930s working out how to do it better; he founded the company in 1942, the first production machines came just after the war, and the Sno-Cat trademark dates from 1946. By the late 1940s the four independent pontoon-mounted tracks were standard. The company is still run by the founder's family — his great-grandson today — and is the oldest successful maker of snow vehicles in the world.
