History

Everett and Clinton Cushman began building engines at Lincoln in 1903 and incorporated as Cushman Motor Works in 1913; the four-stroke Husky engine followed in 1922, Auto-Glide scooters from 1936 to 1965 and Truckster utility vehicles from 1952 to 2002. The company joined Outboard Marine Corporation in 1957, and the first Trackster left the Lincoln line on 13 February 1970. OMC sold Cushman to Ransomes in 1989, and it passed with Ransomes to Textron, under which the name is used on utility vehicles.
