The Countach's V12 in a four-wheel drive: a 5,167 cc L503 of 2,700 kg kerb weight on a 2,950 mm wheelbase, 4,790 mm long and 2,000 mm wide. 301 were built between 1986 and 1993, which makes it one of the rarest production four-wheel drives ever sold.

Giulio Alfieri led the design. Lamborghini had about 800 orders and stopped in 1991 anyway, the manufacturing being too complicated to be worth the money against its other cars. The last 60 were the LM/American, sold only in the United States and first shown at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show. A 7.2-litre L804 marine V12 out of an offshore powerboat was an option.
