Jeep’s engineers built the Rubicon for the Jeepers Jamboree route: electric lockers in Dana 44 axles, 4.10 gears, the NV241OR transfer case with a 4:1 low range, diamond-plate rocker guards and 31-inch tyres, with the 4.0-litre. It was the most capable factory Wrangler and every generation since has had one; the Unlimited Rubicon of 2005–06 added the long wheelbase.
