GAZ GAZ-69, M-72 and 46 chassis numbers

Soviet GAZ and UAZ-built 69s are identified by the plate on the bulkhead — model (GAZ-69, 69A, UAZ-69), chassis number, engine number and year — and by the chassis number stamped on the right frame rail; there is no VIN. Gorky-built (1953–56) and Ulyanovsk-built (1954–72) cars carry their own plates. [1]
