The record

Ford built the Excursion at Louisville on the Super Duty frame with a 137-inch wheelbase, nine seats and up to 11,000 lb of towing; the 7.3 Power Stroke made it the diesel choice of large families and towing owners, and its size drew criticism from the Sierra Club. Sales fell with fuel prices and production ended in September 2005; the Expedition EL took its place. Used Excursions are converted as armoured and limousine vehicles.
