When British Leyland was formed in 1968 about fifty JA2s were fitted with the Land Rover diesel; others took a Ricardo diesel, and Journal du 4x4 describes a JA2 with the Ricardo Comet of about 34 hp, a three-speed gearbox from the M38A1 Jeep, a 2.04 m wheelbase and a weight of 1,400 kg. After the 1970 bankruptcy Alain Cournil built 53 more from a small garage between 1971 and 1977.
