Supacat launched the Wildcat into the defence market on 28 July 2011 in partnership with QT Services, the Wildcat's design authority and manufacturer, and showed it at DSEI in London that September; Supacat called it the first transfer of a whole British motorsport platform into military production. It kept the tubular spaceframe, with a carbon-fibre shell, two crew, a 2,580 kg gross weight, 170 km/h and a 365-litre tank, and offered lightweight armour, a remote weapon station with a 7.62 mm machine gun, smoke dischargers, a hydraulic self-recovery winch and air conditioning. Army Technology lists a Land Rover 3.0-litre V6 diesel and a 4.0-litre V8 petrol among its engines. Army Technology reports that it entered service in 2012 but names no user.
