SHERP’s largest vehicle: ten driven wheels on five axles, articulated in the middle so the front section can rise and twist over obstacles. 9,632 mm long, 2,520 mm wide and 2,605–2,900 mm high, with 600 mm of clearance, 180 litres of fuel and the same 63-inch ultra-low-pressure tyres as the ATV. The XTX carries 7,500 lb of cargo and the XTZ up to 22 people; it swims at 6 km/h.

The Ark takes the ATV’s idea — drive and float on enormous soft tyres — and scales it to a vehicle that can move a crew and its equipment across ground that no tracked machine would cross. Power is a Doosan D24 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel of 320 N·m with a diesel oxidation catalyst, and steering is by articulation rather than skid.
