The CDSW towed the 18-pounder field gun and the 4.5-inch howitzer, and later the 25-pounder; modified versions hauled the 40 mm Bofors for light anti-aircraft regiments, and crane-equipped ones did breakdown and recovery work. The C8 Quad gradually replaced it in the towing role. The third axle is undriven, so this is a 6×4.
