Royal Navy Gloss Dark Blue

The gloss dark 'admiralty' blue worn by Royal Navy shore establishment and naval air station Land Rovers - ship-to-shore liaison vehicles, dockyard trucks and the airfield RESCUE trucks - usually with white RN/ROYAL NAVY lettering and often a white roof. No single catalogued standard is confirmed for the vehicle finish (BS 381C dark blues are commonly quoted by restorers), so no code is recorded. Australian Olive Drab (lustreless)

The Australian Army's own flat/lustreless olive drab, adopted in April 1967 in place of gloss Deep Bronze Green and used as the whole-fleet colour into the late 1980s; distinct from and noticeably lighter than US Olive Drab FS 34087, with no good FS 595 match. Perentie Land Rovers were factory-painted in it from 1987 (Anzol polyurethane 450-2022 'suit ADF Perentie pre-Auscam'), and it remains the base green of the later Auscam three-colour disruptive scheme (Protec 342-1166 Camouflage Green is 'the correct colour for all green vehicles post 1967').
