The record

The sloping snout and the air-cooled boxer are what mark a Protze out at a glance; the engine needed no radiator to freeze or boil, which mattered in Russia and North Africa alike. The third axle is undriven — this is a 6×4, not a 6×6 — and the vehicle’s job was to tow the 3.7 cm Pak 36 and carry its crew and ammunition.
