The record

A prototype was shown at the Aldershot Exhibition in 1978 and again in 1982 with a 90 mm Cockerill gun. The Armed Forces of the Philippines ordered 150 — eight delivered as kits and the rest assembled at Subic Bay — and by 2003 the fleet was 123 personnel carriers, 17 ambulances, 9 infantry fighting vehicles with a 25 mm gun for the Presidential Security Group and one command vehicle.

Procedural reference review, 28 September 2026: compact faceted hull with four shared road wheels, open squared wheel wells, left driver lookout, right radiator and exhaust, two-piece left side hatch and single rear door. The photographed machine-gun turret has six smoke launchers and a searchlight; base and Philippine finish share the same hull. All 24 supplied original images and ten additional walkaround photographs inspected, including rear and interior. No external spare or legible unit numbers were visible across the selected walkarounds, so neither was invented. The 5.35 m length and 2.5 m width follow the archived manufacturer survey; its 2.19 m height is for the low cupola, not this taller turret. Axle spacing of 2.972 m is a secondary-source modelling estimate, not a verified registry specification. UK development and Philippine local assembly are distinct; the populated UK origin is preserved for reviewer correction. The existing engine description is retained because sources disagree on cylinder count; generic diesel game audio. Full inventory and donor audit: research/model-notes/hadley-leonis.md.

AI rendering impression

An AI rendering impression starts from a 3D model of this vehicle, which an image model then paints into a scene. It is an artist's impression of the type, made to give a feel for the vehicle in its element — not a photograph, and not a record of any particular vehicle.

Proportions, fittings, markings, colours and the setting can all drift from the original in the process. For the vehicle's actual details, rely on the specification, the photographs and the cited sources on this page.
