The record
The Ranger replaced the Mazda-built Courier for 1983 at Louisville with a 4x4 option on Twin-Traction Beam from the start; the 2.9 V6 came in 1986, the 4.0 Cologne V6 in 1990 and the 1993 and 1998 redesigns, the second with torsion-bar independent front suspension. The STX (1984) and Splash (1993) were the sport 4x4s, the FX4 (2002) and FX4 Level II (2003) the off-road ones with Torsen differentials. Production ended at Twin Cities, Minnesota in December 2011; the T6 Ranger returned to North America in 2019.
