The record

Ford built the Bronco II at Louisville on the Ranger’s frame against the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and Jeep Cherokee XJ, with the 2.8-litre V6 (2.9 from 1986), a four-speed automatic and, from 1986, a two-wheel-drive option; the Eddie Bauer edition came in 1985 and the 1989 facelift the Ranger’s new front. Rollover concern dogged its reputation. The four-door Explorer of 1990 replaced it.
